Hello!  My name is Megan VanDort.  I have two amazing, wild, crazy, loving and silly children.  I'm either laughing at their silly antics or about to pull my hair out.  And I wouldn't have it any other way!   I feel so blessed to have the most supportive and loving family, extended family and friends.  Sometimes I can’t believe how lucky I am.

I was born and have grown up in Michigan all my life.  I love this beautiful state!  When I’m not playing with my children or hanging out with my husband, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.  The relationships in my life are my number one priority and bring me the most joy in life!  On the rare chance I do get some alone time, I love to have a hot cup of coffee, or a nice glass of wine, read a book or maybe watch one of my "crazy" television shows (as my husband likes to call them).  If I could spend all of my time by the water I would.  Weather it be the beach or a pool, I'm my happiest when I'm by water. 

I have loved photography all my life!  I started to become serious about it in High School and College.  Back then I worked with a film camera.  Yep I’m that old ;).  As soon as I picked up my first professional camera I was HOOKED!  I looked at the world through a whole new “lens”.  I saw every second that went by as a memory I wanted to capture.  I pushed myself to become better and better.   And to this day I’m still pushing myself to be the best I can be.  I’m always learning, researching, practicing and taking classes to go even further. 

I take this tenacity with me into every session!  Your session isn’t just another one in a long line of clients for me.  Your shoot is special! You have let me into your lives to capture these moments…these memories.  I truly treasure that and work so hard to capture photographs with which you will cherish for the rest of your life. Pictures that will take you back to that exact moment in time and remember when you were a senior in school, when your kids were just learning to walk or when you were carrying that sweet baby in your stomach and have yet to meet him/her, or Boudoir images that make you feel strong, confident, empowered, and gorgeous.

I specialize in Women's Portraiture, which is basically a fun way of saying I specialize in making women feel Strong, Confident, Stunning and Unique.  In a world where we are constantly told we aren't pretty enough, skinny enough, tall enough...I'm here to celebrate with you that your are enough! Creating images that make a women feel amazing and special is what I strive for, weather that be Boudoir, Senior, Family, or Maternity.  I would love the opportunity to capture your memories!
